The Administration | The Who, What, Why of Branding

Written By Hannah Risser-Sperry | Mar 5, 2020

Launch a new brand, they said. It will be fun, they said.

Well, it actually was pretty fun.

See, we’ve been filling administrative and professional jobs for clients for awhile now. But our bread and butter has been creative staffing and it’s what people know us for. So when we wanted to make sure people knew we were doing more than that, we knew we needed a new brand and a new site to get them up to speed.

First things first, we brought our friends at Sockeye into the mix. They’ve designed all our identities for the past decade, which means they know our brand(s) like the back of their hand(s).

With them on board, we got to work: what should this site look like? We already had the brand on lock, thanks to them. Inspired by retrofuturism, modernism, and sci fi, it wouldn’t look out of place on, say, a brutalist structure that just so happened to be underwater. Can’t you envision it?

We didn’t want the site to parrot the logo design, but we wanted them to live well together. Sockeye presented us with 70s stock imagery, allowing us to fast forward a decade or two but still be mired in the past. Think the movie 9 to 5 with better workplace dynamics.

On that front, Sockeye brought us Anja Slibar, an incredible New York-based illustrator to bring to life vintage imagery through a contemporary lens.

And she KICKED ASS.

We wanted the site to feel welcoming to professionals but also feel part of our family of brands, AKA not exactly what you expect from a staffing agency. We wanted personality and interest just as much as we wanted people to feel they’d found the next step in their job search.

Thanks to Sockeye, Anja, and our developer Sundaram, we think we nailed it. And if you’re looking for your next great administrative job, you know where to go.
