Take Care of Yourself
Most of us are still at home, and we’re not sure when that will end.
While areas of the country are opening back up, most people in the professional creative spaces are staying home. Whether you’re working or looking for work, it’s important to take care of yourself. Most of us rely on routines to keep many aspects of our mental and emotional lives intact without even realizing it (I wrote a bit about this in the last month), and we’re feeling the effects of an entirely new normal being foisted upon us.
In light of that, M+P put together a little guide to help you if you’re struggling, or to reinforce the choices you’re already making to keep yourself healthy. We pulled heavily from the experts at the National Alliance on Mental Illness, but pared down their original guide to focus more on the issues we think face ourselves and the candidates we place.
And if you’re one of the lucky ones who feels they’ve adjusted easily: that’s great! These tips may be helpful if you’ve got a friend going through it, if a family member is out of work and struggling, or just to check in and make sure you’re taking care of yourself.
We hope you’re staying safe and we encourage you to reach out to The Disaster Distress Helpline (call 1-800-985-5990 or text TalkWithUs to 66746) or The Crisis Text Line (text MHA to 741741) if you need immediate support.
